Welcome
Where heart meets art, we are dedicated to elevating the spirit of creativity. Our journey began as an online arts and crafts show amidst the challenging times of the 2020 pandemic. Creative Rise emerged from collaborative sessions between artist Deborah Shapiro and me. Over the years, we met for lunch and shared ideas, each bringing a unique perspective to running a creative business.
Faced with the unfortunate cancellation of local art shows due to lockdowns, we sought to create a solution. Thus, Creative Rise Virtual Art Fest was born. Our mission was clear – to recreate the immersive experience of art shows in a virtual space. Artists showcased their work through videos, offering glimpses into their creative processes, complemented by live virtual interviews that mirrored the engaging conversations at physical artist booths. The momentum continued, leading to a successful in-person show in November 2022. In-person shows returned, and priorities changed.
Creative Rise is a vibrant blog and go-to site for discovering new hobbies and skills, igniting creativity, navigating life changes with resilience, and finding daily joy through relatable articles, inspirational quotes, and engaging DIY projects. You will meet diverse artists through interviews, sharing their craft, motivations, and unique journeys.

Meet Vicki
Hey there! I’m Vicki, and I’m thrilled you’re here. I believe art doesn’t have to be complicated to be meaningful, and that creativity is something everyone can embrace. From a young age, I was drawn to all forms of creative expression—drawing, painting, writing—you name it. My journey led me to work in corporate creative departments and later as a Certified Wellness Coach. However, I missed hands-on creativity, which inspired me to start a jewelry business and eventually explore new materials that are easy to use and chemical-free.
In 2020, a fellow artist friend and I launched Creative Rise as an online art festival to support artists impacted by canceled events. Now, it’s a platform where I share DIY projects and how-to guides designed to make creativity accessible to everyone. I also feature talented artists in our Featured Artist series, highlighting their journeys and providing ways for you to connect with and support their work.
Here, you’ll find fun and approachable projects that don’t require hours of focus or complicated techniques. My goal is to help you express yourself without overthinking it—just simple steps and a friendly voice cheering you on. I’m excited for you to explore and discover how freeing creativity can be.
